That is kind of what some of us were trying to explain a couple of mails ago. But others were not so enthusiastic about it :) I agree, gopher+ is a way to go, pretty much all the extensions that were mentioned on the list are already implemented in it. And if someone doesn't like the whole gopher+, they can implement a subset. MS IE for example only used file size information from gopher+ menu.
