Bug#742835: apt: Garbage on apt-cache dumpavail with Acquire::GzipIndexes
Package: apt
Version: 0.9.16.1
Severity: important
Hi!
Just noticed that «apt-cache dumpavail» is printing binary garbage at
the end when:
- Acquire::GzipIndexes "true";
- with a repo providing gzip compressed indices files.
This is not visible with the Debian archive, because it does not
provide gzipped indices files anymore. But I can see it when using
the mozilla team's repository.

My guess is that dumpavail is feeding somehow the gzipped files
uncompressed directly to stdout?
Thanks,
Guillem
