Package: apt Version: 0.8.15.10 Severity: wishlist As of the current time, if you want something like mirrors, you have to add multiple repositories. Doing so makes the package managers (especially aptitude) very slow. That exactly is not a mirror system, but a workaround. In a mirror system, there should be a master server from which the package index is downloaded and all other entries should act as a mirror -- just for downloading the packages. Via this implementations like parallel downloading from multiple mirrors and mirror switching can be implemented. |
