Yeah, upstream is in love with the KDE frontend, and I think it's the
one that's maintained the best. That's what our users should get. The
GLUT frontend is ok, especially for demos on big screens and stuff.

I sent them upstream at some point, but I never pushed too hard,
partly because it wasn't my intention to become the upstream maintainer
for the GTK+ 2 port/part.

Yes. For the benefit of our users I think we should really go with the
GLUT and KDE frontends and just throw the GTK+ thing out. If someone
is interested they can just port the KDE thing to GNOME (take ideas and
such), but AFAIUI that'd be no trivial ammount of work.
