I do know what "Heartbleed" and "Unity Lenses" do.

However "Hans Reiser" is new to me. The name seems to be German. Is he from the Gestapo and responsible for wiretapping Angela Merkel's mobile phone?

Hans Reiser invented a file system that bears his name, and was popular about 7  or so years ago. However, Mr. Reiser was convicted of killing his wife,
and was no longer able to maintain his program from jail. It is still around, and you can use it if you want. I think GParted has it as an option, IIRC.
