Files in that directory are executed by 'run-parts'. That
has some restrictions upon the filenames you may use. See
'man run-parts' for details.
My suggestion:
1. Name the script 'firewall'.
2. Make sure it is executable.
3. Make sure your firewall is flushed/off.
4. Run /etc/init.d/networking restart, or reboot.
5. Now list rules.
