3.0r0/powerpc USB crashing
(I tried asking about this on the debian-powerpc list, #debian-powerpc, and
#debian, but no nibbles . . .)
I've got an iMac/266 running Debian 3.0r0, with stock 2.4.18-newppc
kernel. I have connected a DeskJet 1220C via USB; everything seems fine
(e.g., /proc/bus/usb/devices looks good) until I try to print
(foomatic/lprng). Then halfway through the first page of printing,
printing halts, garbage characters come out of the printer, and USB
totally locks up, including keyboard and mouse. I have to ssh in to
reboot. This happens consistently AFAICT.
This is what syslog shows at the point of the lockup:
Jul 31 08:39:10 idmac kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Jul 31 08:39:10 idmac kernel: usb-ohci.c: unlink URB timeout
Jul 31 08:39:10 idmac kernel: printer.c: usblp0: error -110 reading printer
+status

I'm not sure where to turn on this one. Do I need to go upstream? If
there's a more appropriate place to ask for help, I'd like to know . . .
Thanks in advance.
