Gcc found limits.h there too. But now it wants the one in 
usr/include/linux/limits.h.

Look at /usr/include/limits, line 52.

Probably /usr/include/linux isn't in your search path. I think the error
message goes away if you add the following flags to gcc:

   -I/usr/include -I/usr/include/linux
