Dear luatex maintainers,

down here in the Debian Bug Tracking system we got a report telling
that luatex is not able to build its own format file on power pc. The
version specified is 0.11.0, which is in reality the 20070820
snapshot (as far as I can see). Please note that the Debian packet
links dynamically with the following libs in Debian instead of using
the provided libraries: zlib, libpng, libjpg.

Please advise.

Regards,
  Hilmar

Hi,
When I try to install luatex all I get is:

fmtutil: running `luatex -ini -jobname=luatex -progname=luatex tex.ini' ...
This is luaTeX, Version 3.141592-beta-0.11.0-2007090818 (Web2C 7.5.6) (INITEX)

This is a summary of all `failed' messages and warnings:
`luatex -ini -jobname=luatex -progname=luatex tex.ini' failed

I'm not sure what to look for in /var/lib/texmf/web2c

Cheers,
