OK, texlive-base-bin has only gs-gpl in Recommends, not in Depends, so there's no ``gs'' alternative available here, and ``thumbpdf'' fails. The obvious fix is to add it to the B-D of kimwitu-doc, but since the maintainers of texlive-base-bin might want to be aware of such failure, I'm Cc'ing them, in case they want to bump the Recommends to a Depends.
