Bug#243672: tetex-bin: Package doesn't install (file /etc/texmf/texmf.cnf doesn't exist)

Could you please give me the output of

grep texmf.cnf /var/lib/ucf/hashfile

If this gives you some output, the quick fix for you should be 

ucf --purge /etc/texmf/texmf.cnf
dpkg --configure -a

(and I also know a more thorough fix for everybody)
