Booting an IPX from the Floppy Drive?

Having recently inherited a Sun IPX to sit on the corner of my desk, of
course, I have to install Debian on it. :-)

However, I can't get the rescue floppy (resc1440.bin) to boot -- both images
from ftp.debian.org fail after the SILO prompt like so:

ROM Rev. 2.4 [etc, etc]
ok boot /fd
Boot device: /fd File and args:
SILO boot: [enter]

Read error on block 50
Cannot find /linux (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short
read)
Image not found.... try again

I have tried this with quite a few floppies, so I don't think it's an actual
data error.

Sorry if this is a FAQ -- I scanned the archives but didn't see anything.

Thanks -
- James
