Naturally, we'll keep compatability. The simple way to think about it
is that we're adding, not replacing a catalog system. And the XML
resources will then get registered in both catalog systems. (FWIW,
not all XML resources can be regisitered in the SGML catalogs, but
this fact doesn't backward compatability in the sense you speak of.

There are no plans at all to ditch the SGML catalogs. Nor jade, for
that matter. To each, his own.

Of course I'm only paraphrasing what greg would've told me on IRC, had
I'd asked him.

Yep, jade does a fine job of transforming XML documents using DSSSL
stylesheets. I use it all the time.
