indeed, translate acts a bit unconventionally by not supporting the "--help"
argument.
But translate's documentation ("man translate", as well as the output of
"translate -h") only refers to "-h" (not "--help"). Thus it works exactly as
documented.

Maybe upstream should consider adopting the widespread convention of supporting
"--help", but this is probably not a bug, which needs the attention of the
Debian package manager.

Closing this bug report would sound like a reasonable choice to me.
