lpadmin: Unknown argument "hp:/net/envy_4500_series?ip=192.168.9.238".

not sure where to go from here.

This bug is to report that it is impossible to use the OfficeJet Pro 8710 as a scanner without doing one of the following:
* configure the printer function in cups, and keep cupsd running
* edit models.dat

Yes, works fine, original models.dat, on desktop and laptop, cupsd running or not.

edited models.dat produces:

scanimage: open of device hpaio:/net/HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710?ip=192.168.9.238 failed: Operation not supported
Calling sane_exit
scanimage: finished

OK so not "impossible" to use the scanner ;-)
