The canonical way to buid a Perl .deb?

Hi all,

I just ITPed ACME::Eyedrops. It is a small package so it should be a
good thing to start with. I would like to join the Perl group as that is
the logical place to keep this package. If need be, I assume Don
Armstrong would be willing to vouch for me though I did not ask him
beforehand if that is OK. In case it is not, this should not reflect
badly on him, but on me.

Is there a recommended read on how to create a Perl .deb the
Debian Perl team's way? If yes, I would love to do read it.

I don't know how much time I will have during the next few weeks,
but this package should be small enough to fit into my schedule
soon :)
