Package: lmms

Severity: grave
Tags: patch upstream
Justification: renders package unusable
Forwarded: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/6587

Dear Maintainer,

LMMS experiences a segmentation fault on startup. According to an upstream bug report [1], this appears to be due to a specific workaround for an old bug in KXMLGUI [2], which breaks with kwidgetsaddons 5.101.0.

As the comments on the upstream bug report suggest, a workaround is to downgrade kwidgetsaddons to 5.100.0. I can confirm that downgrading the libkf5widgetsaddons5 and libkf5widgetsaddons-data packages works on my system.

The fix for this segmentation fault is to remove the workaround [3], as the KXMLGUI bug has been fixed for some time (since version 5.55.0).
