IMO opinion there are advantages to think about binary compatibility,
because it leads to a well thought out design process rather than
random try and error coding.
In this sense, I rather hope the jack team does not exploit the
possibility of being able to break compatibility too much.
(not only for binary packagers but also for people who develop
against the library).
