The problem is that it is not possible to use more than 256 MB of RAM on
both the "mips" machine and the "Malta" machine given that the
peripheral are mapped starting at 0x10000000.

We should definitely add a check in QEMU (also for a few other non-MIPS
boards) to exit if the specified amount of memory is too high.
