[Advent bug squashing] 5 more minor bugs

Hi,

With Andreas sponsoring, I squashed additional bugs this week: #1049504, 
#1044221, #1047580, #1049145, #1046425, all related to the double source 
build failures. The packages also have some needed maintenance done. :)

I may try some more difficult ones next week. Wish me luck!
