I think that's the main if not the only reason which speaks against Go. But it wouldn't be the first Go package in Debian and the Debian Security Team seems to be able to live with it. It has about 300 lines of Python (in the test suite in dummy python packages) and about 83'000 lines of Perl. Lintian-Brush is written in Python, but a separate project independently developed by Jelmer.
