Bug#217023: breaks lintian completely

Hello,

it looks like something was done recently in that direction and now it's
completely broken. It causes an internal failure of lintian, see below.
The sad thing is: I would like to _have_ the dangling symlinks. And have
a proper check which I can suppress.
