Are you using devfs ???
I had to modify /etc/devfs/perms (or something like that) to get a user to access the serial ports via minicom.

I've got a USB camera working, but only on root.

I get the error Couldn't open device /dev/usb/dc2xx
But root can...

Setting on /dev/usb and /dev/usb/dc2xx are all '666'

No, I'm not. I was thinking about it, but I fried my kernel about 4 days ago and didn't want to risk it again.
I messed up by hitting devfs without RTM and lost it.

Any suggestions on how else to do this?
Should I mount it like hard drive device?
