Meine Übersetzung "Er" ist ja ähnlich ungezielt wie das "they" im
Original. Von der Logik her müsste der Systemadministrator gemeint
sein, denn die Aussage Gruppenverwalter besäßen die Rechte, die
"Gruppenverwalter und Mitglieder haben können" kann nicht richtig
sein.

"wechseln" ist insofern passend (und "to join" des Originals nicht),
als der Benutzer durch newgrp seine primäre Gruppe (d.h., was der
Befehl id mit "gid=" ausgibt. Seine vormalige primäre Gruppe verliert
er, da der nutzer nicht mehrere primäre Gruppenzugehörigkeiten haben
kann.
Ich schlage für das Original etwas in der Art von "to replace the
current membership" oder "to fetch the membership of the name group" vor

Ich nutze es eigentlich nicht aktiv, » und « sind eher die Ausnahme
und ansonsten setze ich noch gerne das Kuh-Emoticon (siehe Anhang)
ein, allerdings eher für landwirtschaftlich ausgerichtete
Handbuchseiten.
