Personally, I solve the problem by working with LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (btw: is there any difference between the ...UTF-8 locales if I use them in LC_CTYPE?) or - for non-unicode enabled programs, in LC_CTYPE=de_DE.ISO-8859-15@euro). cheers -- vbi -- featured link: http://fortytwo.ch/time
