[DebianGIS] Fw: [Liblas-devel] Fwd: LAS 1.2 and libLAS

re. creating a liblas package for debian. liblas contains some ported
"lastools" user programs which had a slightly unclear license as far as
DSFGs are concerned. The following email is from the original lastools
author. liblas itself is released under a BSD license.

LAS is a geodata storage format commonly used with massive LIDAR datasets.
Liblas development is closely tied to gdal and OSGeo and it is hoped that
one day soon the LAS format will be available as a Gdal-plugin using
liblas.

liblas is looking for a debian packager to adopt it. (it's fairly simple)
