New Debian i386 Packages



These i386 packages were installed into the Debian hierarchy in the
last week:

   libc5: The Linux C library version 5 (run-time libraries).
   -  Includes shared libraries needed to run programs built with libc 5.
   libc5-dev: The Linux C library version 5 (development files).
   -  Includes libc headers, kernel headers (v2.0.26) and static 
   -  libraries.
   libc5-dbg: The Linux C library version 5 (debug files).
   -  Includes a static libraries compiled with debugging info.
   libc5-pic: Kit for building specialized versions of the shared C library.
   -  This installs an archive of C library object modules, /usr/lib/libc5-pic.a,
   -  compiled as position-independent code. This archive can be used to build
   -  specialized versions of the run-time-shared C library. It is almost
   -  identical to /usr/lib/libc.a except that it is compiled in PIC.
   -  You won't need this unless you are designing a custom boot floppy
   -  or an embedded system.
   localebin: The locale binaries of the Linux C library version 5.
   -  These binries are needed to compile the locale file to work with libc
   -  version 5.4.0 and higher.

   libg++27   - The GNU C++ libraries (ELF version).
   libg++27-dev - The GNU C++ libraries (ELF version).

   lsh        - Baby Shell for Novices with DOS compatible commands

   lsh        - Baby Shell for Novices with DOS compatible commands

   makedev    - Creates special device files in /dev.

   manpages-fr - French version of the manual pages. (section 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8)

  Multiple Device driver utilities
   The Multiple Device driver's main goal is to group several disks or
   partitions together, making them look like a single block device.
   With 1.3.60ish kernels configured appropriately you can concatenate
   partitions and/or stripe data across disks.  New (very alpha) kernel
   drivers allow raid1 and raid5, providing mirroring and so forth.
   This package contains the utilities for managing these features.

   pcmcia-modules-2.0.27 - PCMCIA Modules for Linux (kernel 2.0.27).

   pdmenu     - Simple full screen menu program.

   perl       - Larry Wall's Practical Extracting and Report Language.
   perl-base  - The Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister
   perl-debug - Allow debugging perl scripts (and perl).
   perl-suid  - Runs setuid perl scripts.

   pico       - Easy-to-use text editor found in Pine.
   pine       - An e-mail reader with MIME and IMAP support.

   playmidi   - MIDI player

   rpm        - Red Hat Package Manager

   info       - Standalone GNU Info documentation browser
   texidoc    - Texinfo manual - how to write a Texinfo file
   texinfo    - The GNU Project's documentation formatting system

   textutils  - The GNU text file processsing utilities.

   util-linux - Miscellaneous system utilities.

   wordplay   - anagram generator

   xaw3d      - Adds a cute 3d to X apps using the athena widget set

   xboing     - Blockout game for X

   xemeraldia - not just another tetris clone

   xfishtank  - Fish swimming across your Root Window

   xgalaga    - Much improved Video Game with Sound etc

   xldlas     - A program for statistics

   xtel       - An X emulator of the french Minitel.
