Cannot install without SSE3. Athlon XP and most of Pentium 4's don't
have SSE3, except the last version of Pentium 4 has SSE3.
The chromium-common package depends on sse3-support.

Hello,

In debian-edu-11.6.0-i386-netinst.iso the problem has been fixed. I
was able to install the system on an Athlon XP (without any trickery).

There is no working web browser though. Firefox ESR is crashing for
any websites due to the well-known SSE2 requirement [1]. Konqueror
crashes on start with Illegal Instruction (also known, it is due to
SSE2 [2]). Chromium doesn't even start, as it requires SSE3, but at
least now you get a message about it, instead of a crash [3]. GNOME
Web (epiphany-browser) could work, as it doesn't require SSE2, but it
is not being installed by default.

Not a web browser, but KAlgebra is crashing with Illegal Instruction
as well (due to SSE2, also known [3]).
