Didn't get far.  2nd instruction, $ sudo apt-get build-dep
xserver-xorg-core, returns:
E: Could not open file
/var/lib/apt/lists/debian.mirror.frontiernet.net_debian_dists_testing_main_source_Sources
- open (2 No such file or directory)
